ISA Software participated on the FAA’s DataComm benefits analysis team, providing simulation and modeling services for DataComm Segment 1, specifically for benefits of providing revised departure clearances electronically instead of via voice. Detailed airport ground layouts, runway configurations, and SIDS/STARS procedures were developed and modeled using RAMS Plus for four airports, IAH, IAD, BWI, and DCA, each with a full 24-hour schedule, with controller voice/frequency usage modeled using the newly enhanced resource competition features in the tool.
