ISA Software participate in 3-year R&D Grant - July 2004
The UK Government's EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Scienses Research Council) are funding a three-year research programme on Robust Conflict Detection and Resolution Taking Into Account Flight Data Uncertainty. This research is headed by the Imperial College Center for Transport Studies (CTS) in London, with support from NATS UK, EUROCONTROL HQ Brussels, Glasgow University, and ISA Software Ltd. R&D topics consist of (1) characterising the quality of navigation data as well as (2) identifying relevant data for pilots together with its associated uncertainies, (3) the development of conflict detection and conflict resolution algorithms incorporating metrics of uncertainty, (4) the implementation of of these algorithms on a test platform, and (5) the impact of delegation of responsibilities from the controller to the pilot.
